The Life of Jesus
Jesus Begins His Public Ministry
AD 26~27 (approx.)After his baptism and temptation, Jesus proclaims the kingdom of God.
Historical background
Jesus was baptized by John, overcame temptation in the wilderness, and announced that God's kingdom was near. His teaching, healing, and calling of disciples continued for about three years, mainly in Galilee. Estimates for the start of his ministry range from AD 26 to 29, depending on how Tiberius's fifteenth year in Luke 3:1 is counted.
